U/W Photo Course

Learn u/w photography the easy way!

As if finding a strobe that is compatible with your camera’s firing mode wasn’t difficult enough manufacturers have confused the issue even further by adopting different proprietary standards. The protocols they have developed to communicate between camera and strobe seem designed to lock you into their system.

For example, proprietary systems like Nikon has eTTL, Canon has iTTL and neither can talk to each other!

This issue is constantly changing so we won’t pursue it any further here. But be assured that we can advise you of the current position when you buy from our store!

geat advice! If you do have an older Nikonos type strobe you may be able to get a digital converter for it from Heinrichs Weikamp that will allow you to use it with digital cameras.
