geat advice! Take two of everything - remember good old 'Sod's Law': if it can go wrong - it will! Due to the inevitability of equipment failure you can never take too much equipment. Sod's law dictates that equipment will work fine until you really need it. The only way to deal with on-site failure is to pull out your backup. Some destinations have equipment hire but should not be relied on. It is much better to take everything with you than rely on local backup. Have a full description of all items, serial numbers, and value. Double insure, as policies invariably never pay the full amount.

Buying equipment abroad can be lucrative, to the point of possibly paying for your trip.
