U/W Photo Course Learn u/w photography the easy way!

Special effects filters alter the image formed by the lens without altering the spectral characteristics of the light. They are a fun area for experimentation but are rarely suited to underwater subjects and consequently win few prizes in competition.

Special effects filters are more usually used with housed cameras as they are designed to only work in the medium of air. It is not practical to use filters over supplementary lenses due to attachment problems.
